Growth Mindset: At OU

I feel like there are a lot of opportunities for the university to grow. It seems like in today's society if you fail, then you are a failure. This is not the case. It just means that you have more abilities to learn from your mistakes and grow. I feel like the university kind of has this mindset. They should enforce the idea of being your own person that learns from productivity and the intent to actually want to learn. A lot of students take classes because they are forced to which results in them not retaining any information. As a part of the student body at OU, I think that the students should make an effort to truly learn in every class while the faculty should teach with a grow mindset teaching style.

  1. I agree fully. It feels like the US education system is primarily focused on grades, not knowledge (in a way). High school GPA needed to get into Universities, college GPA needed for degrees and master programs. Like you said, growth mindset takes what we struggle with and apply learning to that: learning from our mistakes, strive towards what we have difficulty with, correcting our ways, etc.
